I´m an oceanographer and the president of Monitoramento Mirim Costeiro Institute from South Brazil. In 2011 I created a pioneer citizen science program called Junior Coastal Monitoring with the purpose to provide to the children an experience to connect with the coast environment that they live in and encourage them to become a Junior Ocean Guardian. Since 2019 I am training educators who are replicating our educational methodology in other locations on the Brazilian coast and from 2021 in Portugal. In 2020 I started a Ph.D, in Didactics of Science at the University of Lisbon, in the ??Environmental Citizenship area.
